From 19 to 21 January 2026, THCS took part in the Radical Health Festival, held in Helsinki, Finland. Co-curated with the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the City of Helsinki, the Festival brought together leaders and stakeholders from across the health ecosystem to discuss implementation, collaboration and system-level change.
As part of the Festival’s Partner Programme, THCS hosted two back-to-back seminars on Monday, 19 January, addressing two key dimensions of health and care system transformation: the role of companies in transformative ecosystems and the further development of the THCS Knowledge Hub.
The first session, “THCS Transformative Ecosystem Arena: The Role of Companies in Health and Care Ecosystems”, was organised by Work Package 9 and focused on the role that companies can play within health and care ecosystems. The session highlighted how governance, public–private partnerships and policy enablers can support ecosystem adoption and help scale impactful health innovations across Europe.
Through concrete experiences and a multi-stakeholder dialogue, the discussion explored how collaboration between public actors, companies, health and care providers, innovation stakeholders and policymakers can help address unmet needs, navigate regulatory and implementation barriers, and create value for patients, providers and society.
The session brought together contributions from Minna Honkanen (Harju Health Ltd), Rainer Planinc (Cogvis Software und Consulting GmbH), Jan-Marc Verlinden (MEDrecord / Demicare+), Vesa Jormanainen (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, Finland), Donna Henderson (NHS National Services Scotland / Scottish Government), Nelli Karhu (Healthtech Finland), Veiko Lember (TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology).
The second session, “Co-Design Workshop for the THCS Knowledge Hub”, focused on the continued development of the Partnership’s Knowledge Hub. Participants were invited to contribute ideas, needs and feedback on the platform’s next functionalities, with the aim of making the Knowledge Hub an increasingly useful space to support knowledge exchange, transferability and implementation of innovative solutions in health and care.
THCS participation in the Radical Health Festival represented an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with European health and care stakeholders, promote the Partnership’s work on ecosystems and knowledge transfer, and collect inputs to support the next steps of its activities.
