Synergies for Integrated Care Showcase Event

On October 28-29, 2024, HaDEA, together with THCS, NFP4Health, HNN 3.0, and JACARDI, co-organised a Showcase Event in Rome to foster synergies for integrated care and health system transformation.

Synergies for Integrated Care Showcase Event

On October 28-29, 2024, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), together with the Joint Action NFP4Health, the Horizon Europe Health NCP Network HNN3.0, JACARDI, and the Transforming Health and Care Systems Partnership (THCS), co-organised the “Showcase Event on Synergies for Integrated Care.”

The event, held at Spazio Europa in Rome, brought together key EU-funded initiatives to discuss strategies for enhancing integrated care systems across Europe.

The focus of the event was on synergies by implementation, fostered through clustering activities promoted by HaDEA, as well as synergies by design, developed directly at the call level within the EU funding programs managed by the Agency.

Within the overarching theme of integrated care, presentations and discussions centered on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, alongside the promotion of mental health.

Over the two days, interactive sessions created a dynamic environment where participants collaborated to identify practical strategies for enhancing synergies across initiatives. These sessions offered participants the opportunity to build solid bridges between different communities of practice and foster collaboration to respond to future calls for proposals.

By applying tools such as the Logical Framework and SWOT analysis, stakeholders examined the strengths, challenges, and opportunities within existing projects. This structured approach enabled participants to identify areas for alignment, explore common objectives, and develop actionable steps to advance integrated care models.

Special attention was given to initiatives such as JACARDI and MENTOR, which were presented as concrete examples of collaboration driving measurable progress. These sessions not only reinforced the importance of cooperation among EU-funded programs but also encouraged

participants to share insights, methodologies, and experiences. This exchange of knowledge is essential to ensure the effective implementation of solutions across Europe’s health and care systems.

Laura Motta, from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and representing the THCS Coordination Team, presented the strategic role of THCS in enabling synergies within EU-funded projects. Her intervention underscored the framework developed by THCS WP4 to support the transferability and implementation of innovative practices in health systems. This approach aligns with THCS's core mission of fostering capacity building, strengthening ecosystems, and bridging evidence to policy.
